Kent State/RSVP Joint Volunteer Program
If you are interested in volunteer opportunities on campus, there are a variety of opportunities available. Many departments need help with special projects or need someone to help answer phones or do filing for a few hours a week. The university has more than 200 senior citizen volunteers.
Currently, seniors serve as ushers at Porthouse Theatre and volunteer at the Fashion Museum. They also help assemble packets for bulk mailing projects or special programs and answer telephones for fund drives. Typically, the volunteers work for a short time (a day or two) until a task is completed; but some volunteers are interested in devoting several hours a week to an office and helping with routine tasks. If you are interested in the RSVP volunteers, call Fred Allan at 330-672-1064.
Departments who are interested in using volunteers should also call Fred at 330 672-1064, preferably a week in advance to provide time to contact and schedule the volunteers.
