Elected officials, board members, and others challenged with setting policies for the delivery of services, know that making the best decisions means being well-informed. Consisting of ten weekly evening class sessions, this program is designed to take participants on an in-depth exploration of the functions and services of local government, including policy-making responsibilities, and to teach them strategies for team building and problem-solving. Topics of discussion include: diversity; economic, demographic, and technological change; implementing volunteer programs; and community involvement. The program is offered on an occasional basis when sufficient interest is expressed.
Who Should Attend: This program will benefit local elected officials and policy makers of nonprofit agencies. Managers, directors, administrators, and other appointed officials may also be interested in attending.

Credits and Costs: The program is offered on a noncredit basis for which 2.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) may be earned. Course costs are determined on a case by case basis.
