Ohio Municipal/County Court Clerks

Professional Development Program

The Ohio Association of Municipal/County Court Clerks recognizes its members' need for continuing education, and has developed a professional certification course, in conjunction with Kent State University's Center for Public Administration and Public Policy. This program is worth 18 contact hours, giving you 18 of the total 50 points required for certification.

You'll cover topics relevant to municipal/county court clerks' technical and legal job responsibilities, and become familiar with current management practices. A variety of professionals in higher education, the public sector and private consulting and law firms will provide instruction in their fields of expertise.

You can earn the remaining 32 certification points by: documenting formal education or your number of years of experience as a municipal/county court clerk; or by attending conferences and/or in-service training.
