Mission:

The Center for Public Administration and Public Policy is devoted to improving public and nonprofit sector performance through research, technical assistance and training.

Vision:

The vision of the Center for Public Administration and Public Policy (the Center) is to be a recognized leader, offering the highest quality research, training, and technical assistance to improve public sector performance.  In the process of achieving this vision, the Center will increase knowledge, improve professional management, enhance organizational capacity and expand the understanding of civic life.

Background:

The Center was established in the late 1970’s, and it improves public and non-profit sector performance through research, technical assistance, and training.  It has traditionally specialized in local governance, economic development, financial management, and human resources.  The Center has recently expanded its capabilities in water resource management, energy & the environment, and public health.  It draws on the talents of a staff of professionals, a wide range of Kent State faculty members, and affiliated experts.
