Mandatory rehearsal is Tuesday, May 14, 2013 on our campus. The Office of Institutional Advancement is graciously sponsoring a breakfast in the cafeteria for the graduates from 9:00 am – 10am and rehearsal will start immediately afterwards at 10am.
Tickets All guests (including children 1 years and older) must have a ticket to enter the ceremony hall and be seated 25 minutes prior to ceremony start time in order to view the processional.
If you need tickets for guests, you must complete the Commencement RSVP form within the registration period. Students who do no complete the Commencement RSVP Form within the RSVP period (April 1- April 22) will not receive tickets for their guests.

SPECIAL NOTE: You must print your tickets prior to arriving at the Cartwright Hall. Tickets will not be printed at the door. All guests must have a ticket to enter the Cartwright Hall. Each ticket is unique and cannot be scanned twice.
SPECIAL NEEDS TICKETS: If you have requested reserved seating for guests with special needs, University Ceremonies will reserve seating for your guest and one person to accompany them. Please instruct your guests to arrive one hour prior to the start of ceremony; they will need to see an usher wearing a gold name tag. The usher will then direct them to their seat. Please note that once the ceremony begins, reserved seats will not be guaranteed.
SPECIAL HOODER: If you are having a special hooder they do not need a ticket.
EXTRA TICKETS: A maximum of two (2), are not guaranteed, but are subject to seating availability. You may submit your name for the extra ticket lottery by submitting Extra Ticket form. KSU will conduct a random selection to distribute tickets. Notifications will be sent to the candidate's Flashline e-mail account once the selections have been made and the tickets will be sent electronically.
Guests with Special Needs There are no wheelchairs available for guests. However, handicap seating is available upon the graduate's request. Requests for special needs seating must be submitted when the graduate completes the online RSVP for the ceremony. The graduate should include:
- Name of person receiving special seating
- Guest's ability to climb stairs, or if guest uses a wheelchair
- Notification if guest uses portable oxygen
- Guests with special needs tickets need to arrive to Cartwright Hall 1 hour before the ceremony start time. Upon arrival, an usher will escort the guest(s) to their seat.
Post-Commencement Reception-There will be a Post-Commencement Reception after the ceremony at Kent State University. Food and beverage stations will be available. Graduates and their families, as well as alumni, faculty, and staff are all invited to attend this event. KSU takes great pride in celebrating the honorable accomplishments of our graduating students and honored alumni at this special celebration.
