Intercollegiate athletics are an important part of campus life at Kent State.

Athletic Scholarships

Kent State is committed to success both on and off the playing field. Many student-athletes must attend summer school or a fifth year of college in order to complete their degree while meeting the demands of athletic training and competition.

Private funding is needed to provide scholarship incentives for talented student-athletes to enroll in summer school or a fifth-year studies.

Reasons to Support

  • Helps student-athletes maintain necessary course loads, meet NCAA eligibility rules, and complete graduation requirements.
  • Allows student-athletes to spread out required course work, improve grades and relieve time demands.
  • Reinforces commitment to graduating outstanding student-athletes.
  • Student-athletes can participate – throughout the summer – in sport-specific conditioning and skill development at university athletic facilities.

Gift Opportunities

  • An investment of $100,000 will establish an annual $5,000 award for an academically talented student.
  • A contribution of $50,000 or $35,000 provides a partial-tuition scholarship to a deserving Kent State student each fall.
