As Assistant Director for the Women's Center, Cassandra Pegg-Kirby is responsible for providing support, advocacy, programming and education for the female faculty, staff and student populations on campus. Cassie helps to provide emergency support and advocacy through crisis intervention, emergency book scholarships and the women's center pantry. Her programming and education responsibilities include women's leadership, women's health and wellness as well as a promoting understanding and opportunities to make a difference with issues women face on a local and global scale.
Ms. Pegg-Kirby has been a member of the Kent State community for over 12 years, beginning her career in the Admissions Office. She has also worked as a Kent State police dispatcher as well as spending six years as academic advisor for College of the Arts before arriving at her current position at the Women's Center. As an active member of the local Kent community and the mother of four boys, her passions include bringing men into the conversation about women's issues and finding ways to connect our female leaders on campus and in the community.
Cassie holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Women's Studies from Allegheny College (Meadville, PA) and is currently pursuing her Master's in Higher Education and Student Personnel at Kent State.
