Dana Lawless-Andric currently serves as Kent State's Executive Director for Diversity & Inclusion within the Division of Diversity, Equity &Inclusion. In this role, she oversees university-wide diversity programming and training efforts; management of broad-based inclusion initiatives; leadership for division-level communications and administrative functions including staff development; and, serves as second in leadership to the Vice President.
Prior to her role as executive director Ms. Lawless-Andric oversaw three federal TRIO programs as well as a STEM learning community. Her office, Diversity & Inclusion Leadership, includes the university's three federal TRIO Upward Bound Programs, the divisions' Business Manager, Diversity Research Specialist and Administrative Assistant. Dana has also been active at the state, regional and national level in policy analysis and access and graduation advocacy for first-generation, low income students.
Dana graduated with a bachelor's degree is psychology and philosophy from Mount Union College in 1998 and went on to complete her Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, 2001 at Kent State. She is currently working toward her doctoral degree in Cultural Foundations.
