As business manager for Kent State University Upward Bound Programs, Gaylen Moore is responsible for developing and maintaining the budgeting system for the three Upward Bound grants, providing financial guidance to the Upward Bound leadership team, and providing database management. Gaylen came to Kent State Upward Bound in 1999 from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he had worked in the Accounts Payable department and the Purchasing Department.
Gaylen holds two bachelor's degrees from Minnesota: a B.S. double-major in political science/environmental studies from Mankato State, and a B.A. in philosophy from Bemidji State. He recently earned his master's degree in philosophy from Kent State, and is currently writing a novel with strong diversity themes.
Gaylen eventually wants to be a college professor and prize-winning author when he grows up.
