Trinidy Jeter

Program Coordinator, Student Multicultural Center

 Trinidy Jeter is the Program Coordinator for the Student Multicultural Center at Kent State University. As Program Coordinator, she is responsible for several programs assisting in the persistence and retention of AALANA (African American, Latino American and Native American) students.  Ms.Jeter facilitates academic, cultural and social programs including: Kupita/Transiciones Orientation Program, Karamu Ya Wahitimu pre-commencement ceremony, the Oscar Ritchie Scholars Guild honorary society, Male Empowerment Network (M.E.N.) and Sister Circle, two support groups for AALANA students, Soup and Substance a campus-wide dialogue series surrounding matters of diversity and serves as the co-chair for the Men focusing on Action Leadership and Engagement (M.A.L.E.) Initiative. 

Prior to joining the Kent State community as an Academic Advisor in 2008, Ms. Jeter held positions at Baldwin-Wallace College as an Area Coordinator and Adjunct Instructor.  She received her Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from THE Ohio State University and Bachelor of Arts in Black Studies from Denison University. Ms. Jeter has been a certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Interpreter since 2006. Her interest in supporting diversity within the collegiate environment was ignited during her undergraduate studies.  She is a strong proponent of the platinum rule: treat others how they want to be treated.
