Degree Level or Certificate Type: Graduate

Program Description:

The Public Administration [MPA] degree program is designed for individuals who wish to either enter or advance in the public service or nonprofit sector as managers.  This program is online to provide parallel content through web-based lectures and assignments that mirror what occurs in each traditional class.  It also provides accessibility for disabled students that goes beyond ADA/Section compliancy. Extensive communication is provided through web based lectures and discussion boards that are supported with live interactive audio classes directly to and from your home- not a lab.  One of the largest overall factors of this online degree is convenience.  There is no need to travel to the physical library.  Online research resources and required readings are accessible through electronic reserves.

Delivered by:  World Wide Web, other

Admission/Prerequisite Requirements:
Admission to the MPA program requires a Bachelors degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Also required is a Graduate Record Exam score of approximately 450 math and 450 verbal. Students must also be able to strongly direct their own education.

Percent of program offered at a distance:  75-100%.  The degree program is divided into three parts: a series of core courses (all online), an internship and a capstone course (both available online), and an elective specialization area consisting of three courses students may select from anywhere in the University.  If the elective of the student's choice is offered online, the student can feasibly finish the degree completely online.
