Though courses are web-based, you will need to take some exams in a proctored setting. Proctored testing can occur in the classroom with your instructor, with the ProctorU remote test proctoring service, or at a physical testing facility on-campus or off-campus.
To get started with proctored testing, please follow the steps below:
What a proctor does:
A proctor is usually someone who is employed full-time in education. Relatives, direct supervisors, or church leaders are not approved proctors. There are several proctor sites with which Kent State University works; those are listed below. You can also choose an alternate site, but must submit a request to do so five business days prior to the test date--instructions are at the bottom of this page.
How Physical Test Proctoring Works:
A few things you need to know about proctor sites:

Kent State University @ Kent |
The testing will be by appointment only. No evening or weekend hours available. Limited capacity. Kent State University students should contact proctoredtesting@kent.edu to schedule an appointment for their proctored test at least one week in advance of their test date. Faculty members should use the same email address to send information regarding their tests, computer password for accessing online tests or other information their student will need to know to successfully complete their test.
Rescheduling policy: In the event of needing to reschedule an exam, we require 48 hours’ notice (two working business days) to reschedule your exam. While we will attempt to accommodate your request to reschedule, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to reschedule for your desired time based upon our available resources. Rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice will be considered a cancellation which will require a full weeks’ notice to reschedule the exam. The proctored testing service will be provided in the Lincoln Building on the Kent Campus. The service is available to any Kent State University student. Students will be required to present a government-issued or Kent State University photo ID to their test proctor when they come to take their test.
This service is not available for entire classes of students or for non-Kent State University courses. |
