Support the School
REASONS TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOL OF DIGITAL SCIENCES:
In many established departments, generous alumni or friends have contributed over the years to support the teaching and research needs of the department. Typical uses for donations are:
- Departmental Awards: given annually to recognize student achievement.
- Named Scholarships: given to endow a scholarship to support deserving students in their studies.
- Instructional or Research Equipment: given to support the purchase of equipment for academic teaching labs or faculty research.
Since the School of Digital Sciences is still in its infancy, it does not yet have funds available for these very worthy purposes.
HOW TO DONATE TO THE SCHOOL:
Making a donation to the School of Digital Sciences is easy! Kent State University's Ways to Give page describes how to give a gift by check, through an employer matching program (make your gift count even more!), through payroll deduction (Kent State employees only), or as a bequest in the memory of a loved one. Making a donation by credit card is even easier — simply click on "Make your online gift now" on the right.
To directly support the School of Digital Sciences, however, the key is to designate the gift in support of the School.
If you make your gift online by clicking the link on the right, when you reach Step 3 "Designate your GIft", you should select "Let me decide where to designate my gift", then select "Other" at the bottom of the list, and finally, type "School of Digital Sciences" in the box. If you make a gift by check, simply write "For the School of Digital Sciences" in the memo area.
Endowing a Named Scholarship is slightly more complicated, but can be a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy to benefit deserving students for years to come. If you would like to explore this option, please contact the School of Digital Sciences and we will help you make the arrangements to do this.
