Health Promotion

Mission Statement

The mission of the Center for Health Promotion through Education is to link schools, agencies and universities together in order to sustain collaborative, long-term efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and communities. To achieve this mission the Center for Health Promotion through Education has six major initiative:

To assist agencies and schools in obtaining grants for assessment, design implementation and/or evaluation of health promotion initiatives.
To conduct and/or coordinate applied research in order to identify risk behaviors and evaluate prevention and treatment programs.
To enhance graduate student's professional growth by providing field experience in health promotion initiatives
To promote the Center for Health Promotion through communication media.
To assist the College of Education faculty and staff on obtaining health related resources.
To represent the Center for Health Promotion through Education at local, state and federal levels through meetings and/or conferences.

Center staff, faculty, and graduate students in the Department of Adult Counseling, Health and Vocational Education.
