Akron Council of World Affairs
The Akron Council on World Affairs (ACWA) is a private, non-profit, non-partisan membership organization based in Akron, Ohio, USA. ACWA's mission is to increase public dialogue in Akron and vicinity on international issues important to U.S. policymaking and to support cross-cultural communication and democratic decision-making by our citizens. KSU has provided leadership in developing the secondary education program of Global Scholars.

 



Comparative and International Education Society

The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) was established in 1956 to promote cross-cultural understanding, scholarship, academic achievement and societal development through the international study of educational ideas, systems, and practices. The Society's members include more than 2000 academics, practitioners, and students from around the world. Gerald H. Read was one of the founders of CIES. Archives of CIES are housed at Kent State University.

Chapters International India

Chapters International is a global provider of customized workshops, in-service training, educational conferences and other consulting services in the education sector, which support the professional development of educators. All Chapters India courses are certified and meticulously chosen to provide practical and complete solutions to educators to unleash the potential of children. Kent state University Faculty provide expertise for this workshops.

 



Cleveland Council of World Affairs.

Founded in 1923 to promote world peace, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) is Northeast Ohio’s most prominent organization that provides the public with greater understanding and personal engagement in international relations and global issues. CCWA  is a collaboration partner with KSU in internationalizing PreK-12 schools in NE Ohio.

 

 

International Baccalaureate Organization

International Baccalaureate Organization The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation, motivated by its mission, focused on the student. Their three programs for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. Founded in 1968, and currently working with 3,301 schools in 141 countries to develop and offer three challenging programs to over 968,000 students aged 3 to 19 years. This organization offers graduate credit of IB sponsored workshops worldwide at Kent State University. For more information see link with KSU's Professional Development Office

 



Ohio Teachers Going Global

 OHIO TEACHERS GOING GLOBALis a web link of resources for k-12 teachers, and maintained by the Ohio Department of Education. Annually the ODE also has sponsored the Ohio global Teachers Institute. Kent State University was the first host in 2009.



IREX

IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally. Kent State University has awarded grants every year since 2006 and hosted secondary educators from all over the world though the International Leaders in Education program (ILEP).

 



Kent State Koleji

Kent State Koleji is our partner school in Istanbul, Turkey. It is affiliated with Kent State University and Avrupa Education Foundation and provides a Kindergarten program and primary school education to children in Turkey. This partnership established nearly a decade ago, provides rich intercultural and international experiences for faculty and graduate students annually.




National Teacher of the Year

Kent State University annually hosts the National Teacher of the Year. The National Teacher of the Year Program, sponsored by ING, is a project of the Council of Chief State School officers. The National Teacher of the Year is chosen from among the State Teachers of the Year, and continues as the oldest, most prestigious national honors program that focuses public attention on excellence in teaching.




World Council of Comparative Education Societies

World Council of Comparative Education Societies ( WCCES) is an international organization of comparative education societies worldwide and is an NGO in Operational Relations with UNESCO. WCCES was created in 1970 to advance the field of comparative education. Gerald Read was one of the founders of WCIES. Archives of WCIES are housed at Kent State University.
