Field Based Program
Kent State Transition Collaborative
The Kent State Transition Collaborative (KSTC) is a partnership between local public schools, agencies, and the Transition Center. It blends practical job training for young adults with disabilities and with "hands-on" experience for Kent state university students. The KSTC helps high school students develop transition plans and enhance their future employment opportunities. Currently the collaborative provides field-based experience in the following areas
-
Career Exploration, a two day option, which helps students to identify their interests and allows them to try out a number of job tasks.
-
Job Training, a four day option, which helps students learn appropriate job behavior and meet employer expectations in a paid job.
-
College for students with intellectual disabilities a four year college experience students with intellectual disabilities.
