Deaf Education

Deaf Education

The Deaf Education program provides students with the coursework and field experiences necessary to be licensed in the field of special education in the area of deaf education. Students pursuing this program will be prepared to teach learners ages 3-21 who have been identified with a hearing loss (deaf or hard of hearing).

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST already have, or you must be planning to obtain, a Deaf Education Teaching License if you wish to pursue one of our certificate programs. DFED courses that are required for licensure also are foundational to work in the field, and you therefore must have taken, or plan to take, these classes in order to be considered for certification(s).
