Kent Social Services

Feeding the hungry and providing emergency services to persons in the City of Kent and Franklin Township. Kent Social Services provides a hot meal program to those in need on Monday - Friday during the hours of 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. They also provide grocery assistance to families in need through their pantry program. Kent Social Services serves, on average, 75 individuals a day. The Campus Kitchen Project at Kent State University will provide one meal a week to those served by Kent Social Services.

Center of Hope

Opened in November of 1989, its mission is to serve hot meals and provide an emergency food pantry, along with referral and advocacy services. Center of Hope serves meals to nearly 110 individuals a day.

Freedom House

Our mission is to support homeless veterans in our community in their efforts to achieve greater self-sufficiency. Including the ability to secure and maintain permanent housing. Support will be provided through intensive case management and access to community resources dedicated to enhancing self-sufficiency, and will reflect the individual needs of those served.

Miller Community House

The Miller Community House's mission is to provide adults and children in a housing crisis with emergency shelter, support, advocacy and referrals to encourage self-sufficiency and movement to permanent housing.
