The Richard and Jo Anne Vacca

FELLOWSHIP FOR TEACHERS OF LITERACY

 

This fellowship was established to support practicing teachers enrolled in the Master's Degree Program in Reading Specialization at Kent State University.  This award assists teachers in their goals to earn a master's degree and improve literacy instruction in Northeast Ohio.  The fellowship will be awarded annually for a summer session, three-credit graduate level course.  The fellowship is a one-time, non-renewable award.

Criteria

Recipients will be selected by the faculty affiliated with the Reading and Writing Center at Kent State University based on the following preferred criteria:

1.      Employed as a full-time teacher in Northeast Ohio;

2.      Admitted to the Master's Degree Program in Reading Specialization in the College of Education, Health and Human Services at Kent State University;

3.      Currently enrolled or planning to enroll for a minimum of three (3) graduate credit hours for the summer.
