Welcome to the Office of Graduate Student Services website. Our office is a full student service office which provides support for students' progress throughout their programs. This includes maintaining student records, and clearing students for graduation in the College of Education, Health, & Human Services.

Important Graduate Dates for Fall 2013
A list of deadline dates for items such as graduation, oral defense of dissertation, oral defense of thesis, withdraw and exit from current semester, etc. Also, dates of when the semester begins and ends, graduation commencement ceremony, and dates for when the University is closed due to holidays.
August 26 Fall classes begin
August 30 Last day to apply for December 2013 Graduate graduation
August 30 Last day for those hoping to graduate December 2013 to file approve dissertation or
thesis proposal or project proposal
Sept 2 Labor Day (no classes, Offices closed)
Nov 1 Final date for oral defense of graduate level dissertation or thesis or project
Nov 11 Veterans Day (No Classes, Offices closed)
Nov 21 Deadline to submit dissertations and theses. All must be submitted electronically
Nov 27 (noon) - Thanksgiving Holiday (No classes, offices closed Thursday & Friday)
Dec 6 Final deadline for all dissertation corrections
Dec 8 Classes End
Dec 8 All incomplete grades from previous semester must be cleared
Dec 9-15 Final Exam week
Dec 13 Date of Kent Campus graduate ceremony is tentative; it may be held the Saturday after the date listed. Since the graduate ceremony date has not been confirmed, please check the commencement site for official date
"The Guidelines for Preparation of Theses and Dissertations are designed to assist students and typists to maintain the high degree of accuracy and consistency which are hallmarks of well-written documents. Prior to the thesis/dissertation process, students should familiarize themselves with the procedures described in the guidelines. It is assumed that the guidelines will be used in conjunction with the approved style guide.
Beginning spring semester 2010, all theses and dissertations will shift to the recently released American Psychological Association, 6th ed. as their reference guide. Graduate Assistantship Application
An appointment made by KSU to full-time graduates who display a high level of scholarship and academic excellence. The award is merit based, not need-based, and includes stipend and tuition.
