CHANGE OF DEGREE OR MAJOR
If students decide to change degree/major, the appropriate form must be completed. Upon approval, a new plan of study must be filed. The form should be used when students desire to change from one Master's or Ed.S. program into another. Students can not use the Change of Degree/Major form to change to a higher degree. They must formally apply again to the higher degree. Students can use the Change of Degree/Major form to drop down to a lower degree (Ed.S. to Masters, Ph.D. to Ed.S. etc). The form for the above changes can be obtained here or in the Office of Graduate Student Services in room 418 White Hall.
Students enrolled in programs which result in initial or additional licensure will need to take the appropriate section(s) of the state approved examination (PRAXIS II). These tests are offered during specified dates throughout the year. Students should plan ahead to be certain that the Praxis II is scheduled sufficiently early to allow time for the result to be posted to their transcript. Information is available at www.ets.org. During the last six weeks of the licensure program, the Application for Licensure form must be completed. This is available in the Office of Student Services, room 304 White Hall, and on the web here. The license will be sent directly from the State Department of Education once completion of coursework requirements and Praxis scores are verified.
The application for graduation must be filed with the Office of Graduate Student Services (418 White Hall) no later than FRIDAY of the first week of classes in the SEMESTER IN WHICH GRADUATION IS ANTICIPATED. The application is available here or outside of the Office of Graduate Student Services, 418 White Hall.
