Role of Professional & Faculty Advisors
Role of Faculty Advisor:
- Assist students with selection of professional/major courses
- Assist students in adjusting their GPS plan as necessary
- Provide career guidance and mentoring for students
- Collaborate with Professional Advisor Liaison
Role of Specialized Advisor:
- Assist students with the selection of Kent Core, pre-professional coursework and coursework primarily in the first two years
- Work with students on creating, updating, and maintaining their GPS plan
- Review academic policies and procedures with students
- Provide students with relevant resources and referrals
- Collaborate with Program Coordinators and Faculty Advisors
Shared Role of Faculty and Professional Advisor:
- Assist students in the development of skills and abilities
- Provide a supportive environment to assist students in achieving their academic goals
- Maintain advising records for students
