Autism Spectrum Intervention Specialist
The ASISC certificate Program has been updated and enhanced.
We are currently accepting students for our fall Cohort. Applicants must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Special Education, Speech-Pathology and Audiology, Psychology, or another health and human services related field, and work closely with individuals with ASD and their families. ASISC coursework can be completed online or in a combination of online and traditional classroom formats. This is a joint program offering, developed and administered by Special Education and Speech Pathology.
There has been a dramatic increase in the number of children diagnosed with an ASD in American schools. The ASISC program is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the theoretical conceptualizations of ASD; and the skills needed to develop and implement evidence-based lifespan intervention programs, collaborate successfully as a member of intervention teams, support individuals with ASD being served within general and special education contexts, and effectively address the needs of families. The ASISC program provides participants with an interdisciplinary curriculum that includes didactic and applied learning experiences under the direction of recognized scholars in ASD.
