Kent State University School of Art Galleries will host the annual “Small Works Competition,” through Dec. 22 at the Downtown Gallery.
The Downtown Gallery is located at 141 E. Main St. in downtown Kent. Free parking is available behind the gallery.
The Small Works Competition is open to regional and local artists, and Kent State students, faculty and staff. The art must fall within a 12-inch-by-12-inch-by-12-inch size requirement.
The exhibition promises to represent a variety of artistic styles and techniques. Last year’s competition featured jewelry and metal, paintings, prints, ceramics and more.
Gallery visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase their favorite pieces, supporting local artists while also finding unique holiday gifts.
The Downtown Gallery’s hours of operation are Wednesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 330-676-1549 or visit http://galleries.kent.edu.
