English 11011 College Writing I
Eng 11011 College Writing I is designed to be an introduction to college writing and includes an understanding of writing as a rhetorical process based upon the goal of communicating effectively with specific audiences. It also includes an introduction to writing and information technologies that informs the effective use of written communication in academic and professional settings. Syllabi in Eng 11011 cover four essays and a reflective writing, directed readings, and compose one or more multimodal projects. Because course sections may vary according to thematic content, students are encouraged to check individual section descriptions when considering which class to enroll in. Students who pass Eng 11011 with a "C-"; or better and have at least 24 hours of course credits are eligible to take Eng 21011, the Tier II writing course.
