My research interest centers on the distinctive challenges of reading multi-modal texts using traditional teaching tools within a culturally-evolving classroom while emphasizing the need for producing a radical, polyvocal citizenry. Since my academic focus overlaps my pedagogical aims, I attempt to constantly re-invent my teaching strategies and tools within the classroom based on a process of constant reflection and interrogation by the students and me of our culturally constructed values and behaviors.
