My research and teaching interests center on the intersection of literature, history, and contemporary culture.  Whether discussing music and culture with my introductory writing classes or immersed in  my own research on 20th century Modernist and American Midwestern writers, I like continually challenging the boundaries of who we are and how we define our place in the universe.
