Passing of Kent State Faculty Member, Kimberly Todd-WhitePosted Jul. 22, 2010
Kent State University mourns the loss of faculty member Kimberly Sue Todd-White, who passed away July 18, 2010, as the result of a car accident.
Todd-White was an English lecturer at Kent State University, where she taught for 20 years in the Department of English, Department of Pan-African Studies and the Honors College. She was a 1976 graduate of East Liverpool High School, where she was eighth in her graduating class and was president of the National Honor Society. She graduated in 1988 from Kent State with a B.A. in English and in 1990 with a master’s degree in English. Todd-White was awarded "Favorite Teacher Recognition" several times, and in 2010 was recognized by the Honors College as "Honors Faculty of the Year.”
Services will be held on Saturday, July 24, at 10 a.m. at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 15872 St. Clair Ave., Calcutta, with Father Peter Haledaj of St. Aloysius Community Parish as celebrant.
Following the services, family and friends will gather for food and fellowship at the Hospitality Center of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home at 145 West 5th St., East Liverpool.
Burial will be on Monday, July 26, at 11 a.m. at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, July 23, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Calcutta.
