Derek Van Ittersum

Assistant Professor,
Coordinator of Digital Composition
Derek Van Ittersum's research explores the relationships between people and writing technologies, with an emphasis on rhetorical practices and innovations. In particular, his work traces the reciprocal development of new writing techniques and new writing technologies. His current work-in-progress involves studying the ways people develop and share their situated knowledge of rhetorical computing. This work influences his teaching as well by searching for ways to combine rhetorical and technological learning outcomes.
