University Staff Advisory Council (USAC)

Location: Franklin Hall, Room 110

What is USAC?

The University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) is Kent State University’s employee forum to share ideas and information related to specific university issues and topics.

USAC was established in 2000 and the council’s purpose is multifaceted and includes the following:

  • Provides a forum for open communication;
  • Engages in two-way conversation regarding areas of employee and university interest;
  • Provides insight on specific topics;
  • Serves as a "go to" group to present new ideas; and
  • Assists in enhancing internal communication.

The members of USAC serve as ambassadors for communication throughout the university community. The group includes all staff, classified and unclassified, with representation from all divisions and regional campuses.

USAC has nine scheduled meetings each year and special meetings are conducted as needed. The council is hosted by Human Resources and is currently co-chaired by Carla Wyckoff, coordinator of communications, and Nola Ruble, clerical specialist, Arts and Sciences.

All university staff are encouraged to attend meetings and freely contribute to the discussions.
