College Goal Sunday-Franklin Hall
Kent State University will host the state-wide college financial aid event "College Goal Sunday" (CGS) on February 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Franklin Hall on the Kent Campus. The free event, presented by the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) and endorsed by the Ohio Board of Regents, assists students and parents with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the federal application that is required to receive federal financial aid including the Federal Pell Grant and student loans as well as the need-based state grants. Families are encouraged to register for the free event at www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org or by calling 1-800-233-6734. While walk-ins are welcome, registration is encouraged.
Financial Aid Information Fair
The Student Financial Aid Office will be hosting a Financial Aid Information Fair on February 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Student Center. There will be games, prizes, snacks and important information for those students who are continuing their education into the 2015-2016 academic year. The main focus of this event is to inform students about budgeting, loan management and repayment, answer Free Application for Federal Student Aid questions and more. Students will have the opportunity to have one-on-one counseling and the ability to review their current loan balances on the National Student Loan Data System. All students are welcome, registration is not required.
FAFSA Priority Processing Date
Kent State University's priority processing date for completion of the 2015-2016 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is February 15, 2015. This includes students attending Summer 2015, Fall 2015 and Spring 2016. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA online by this date to receive priority consideration for campus-based aid. The FAFSA application can be accessed online at www.fafsa.gov after January 1, 2015. Assistance completing the FAFSA is available by contacting the Student Financial Aid Office at (330) 672-2972.
