Peter Dahl

Professor Emeritus

My current research interests are mostly in isotope geochemistry, metamorphic petrology, and Precambrian geochronology.  Ongoing projects aimed at deciphering isotopic and chemical records of Precambrian thermotectonism and ore mineralization are based in the Wyoming Province (South Dakota and Montana) and in the Adirondack Lowlands (New York).  Another ongoing project focuses on modeling the crystal-chemical controls on argon retention and closure temperatures in amphiboles and micas.
