Dr. Yonathan Admassu

Assistant Professor, Geology

I am an engineering geologist with a side interest in economic geology and structural geology. My main research interest is rock slope stability. I have developed a new software, DipAnalyst for kinematic analysis of rock slope failures. Prior to engineering geology, I worked in the mineral exploration industry in my home country of Ethiopia. I was looking for mainly gold in Arabian Nubian Shield of northern Ethiopia. I am still interested in the metallogeny and tectonic evolution of the Arabian Nubian Shield of north eastern Africa.
