Acirema Workshops

Acirema Workshops feature a simulation exercise designed to sensitize participants to the months of difficulties that international students encounter in their quest for a U.S. education. It acquaints the participants with the procedures and obstacles students must follow from the initial contact with a U.S. educational institution to their arrival on campus, and even issues that students face after arriving. A facilitated discussion takes place after the simulation to address the specific issues at stake, as well as what participants can do in the future to help support international students at Kent State University.

How Does it Work?
The Office of Global Education holds Acirema workshops a few times throughout the year, including during International Education Week. However, most workshops are set up after a request from a university office, department, college, faculty member, etc. If you are interested in having your office or department participate in an Acirema workshop, please contact the Office at: ISSS@kent.edu
