Check our calendar often for announcements of everything from concerts to workshops and festivals to sightseeing trips, all with the power to broaden your understanding and appreciation of the world.

January
  • Friday, January 20. FREE Global Movie Night: IRON MAN, starring Robert Downing, Jr.. Kiva, Kent Student Center. Movie begins promptly at 7:00 pm. Arrive early to ensure a seat.
  • Thursday, January 26. International Student Reception. Main Library, 4th Floor, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Library staff and the Office of Global Education welcomes all international students and their families for an evening of food and refreshments, plus the opportunity to learn about the many resources the Library has to offer international students. Registration required.
  • Saturday, January 28. Chinese New Year (Spring Festival). The Year of the Rooster!

February
  • Wednesday, February 15: Cultural Cafe. Kent Student Center Ballroom Balcony (3rd floor), 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Featuring Israel and Oman. Join the Office of Global Education to learn about the history, culture and places of interest of Oman and Israel as presented by students from both countries. Plus, sample cuisine from the two countries during the intermission between the two presentations. Free and open to all.
  • Saturday, February 25: ISAF Ski Trip. Brandywine Ski Resort. Join the Office of Global Education for a day of winter fun and frolic. Cost includes ski rental, lift ticket and a one-hour ski lesson. $40 (ISAF), $55 (non-ISAF). Register at the Office of Global Education, Monday through Wednesday, 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

March
  • Wednesday, March 15: Cultural Cafe. Kent Student Center Ballroom Balcony (3rd floor), 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Presentating countries to be announced. Join the Office of Global Education to learn about the history, culture and cuisine of two countries as presented by international students from those countries. Sample cuisine from the two countries during the intermission between the two presentations. Free and open to all.
  • Wednesday, March 29 through Sunday, April 2. ISAF Philadelphia Road Trip. Join the Office of Global Education for a journey to America's city of Brotherly Love, Philladelphia, PA. Cost includes 4 nights in a hostel, motercoach transportation and 4-day sightseeing tour pass. Cost: $150 (ISAF), $200 (non-ISAF). Register at the Office of Global Education, Monday through Wednesday, 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Visit Philadelphia.
