International Initiatives
Kent State University has many partners throughout the world. As the university continues to expand its relationships with educational institutions both in the United States and abroad, it is important to formalize such agreements in order to ensure uniformity across multi-department endeavors. Therefore it is required that all new or renewing agreements with universities outside the United States and/or institutions of higher education outside the United States be reviewed and approved the Office of Global Education.
Typically international agreements are the product of relationships that have developed over time between faculty members at Kent State University and their peers at other institutions. While initial activity and relationships does not require a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) be in force, formal agreements may serve to facilitate exchange programs.
Those wishing to consider establishing a formal MOU must submit their request to the Office of Global Education using the request form below. Direct collegial relationships among faculty members, administrators, and/or students of two institutions are informal affiliations and do not require institutional authorization.
If you would like to initiate a Memorandum of Understanding between Kent State University and another institution, follow these steps:
-
Complete the Registration Form.
-
OGE will create a draft of the MOU
-
The draft will be sent back to you for review with the partnering institution.
-
Then, send the discussed draft with changes back to Sarah Malcolm, smalcolm@kent.edu
-
Final version of MOU is signed by both parties.
