Sarah has been at Kent State since the spring of 2003. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education and her Master of Arts in Spanish Literature from Kent State University. She first started working at KSU as a graduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences where she moved into a full-time advising position. It was during her time as an academic advisor that she began working with international students and served as the college liaison for new international transfer students. She also was active with promoting education abroad among students, faculty, and staff at KSU.
After working in the Office of the Provost for three years Sarah joined the Office of Global Education in May of 2011 as the International Partnerships Manager. She is responsible for the development and maintenance of agreements and contracts with international institutions and agencies. This includes Memoranda of Agreement, exchange and study abroad programs, specialized degree completion plans, faculty led research and exchange opportunities, and recruiting contracts. She most recently was selected as a member of the NAFSA Trainer Corps program where she will provide training on topics such as intercultural communication and study abroad planning and development.

Moema came to the US from Brazil to study at Cornell University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Design and Environmental Analysis. After working in Los Angeles and Denver as a designer, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting. Prior to joining Kent State University Moema was the Director of Education and Engagement at the University of Massachusetts Fine Arts Center.
Moema has extensive experience working with college students. For 14 years she taught art at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, directed the Jewish Student Center-Hillel for 6 years, and coordinated the Student Leaders Study of the United States Institute -SUSI program that brought students from Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela to the UT campus for intensive leadership training. She also conceived and directed the highly successful Knoxville Jewish Film Festival for three years.
As an artist Moema has exhibit nationally and internationally and was the recipient of the Wisconsin Arts Board Percent for the Art Program Award for two years. Her artworks are in private and public collections including the Tennessee Governor's Executive Mansion in Nashville, the Waupan Correctional Institution in Waupan, Wisconsin, and the Wausau Hospital Center in Wausau, Wisconsin.
In addition to working at the Office of Global Education, Moema also teaches art at Kent State.
Onur earned his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Bahcesehir University in Turkey in 2006 and Master of Technology degree from Kent State University in 2008. Following his Master’s Degree, Onur taught information technology and computer networking courses in the education industry throughout Northeast Ohio for more than two years. Currently Onur is pursuing his PhD in Instructional Technology Program at Kent State University.
Onur Topuzlu has been a graduate assistant with the Office of Global Education since July 2012. At the international partnerships division, Onur assists with a variety of partnership agreements and contracts, designs and maintains databases and maintains the partnerships website.
He is member of TASNO (Turkish American Society of Northeastern Ohio) and Kent State TACA (Turkish American Cultural Association). Onur enjoys travelling and learning about new cultures with his wife. He also loves watching soccer games and vintage science fiction movies.
