Students feel safe at Kent State University and the University works closely with Police Services.

  • The FBI's annual Uniformed Crime Report ranks KSU as one of the safest campuses in the nation.
  • Kent State Police Services is an accredited law enforcement agency (Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies)
  •  Police patrol 24 hours a day.
  • Emergency phones are located around campus and accessible to students at all times.
  • Security Escorts are available to students every day from 8pm – 4am.
  • Kent uses FlashALERTS, a campus-wide text message notification system to communicate emergency information to students.

Residence Services

As a residential campus, the university requires most undergraduate students to live on campus.  Full-time staff work and live in the residence halls to provide support and direction.

Student Life

Kent State has a vibrant community of students and offers:

  • University Health Services.
  • University sponsored programs and activities including festivals, concerts, and lectures. 
  • Recreational facilities that include, but are not limited to, a rock climbing wall, saunas, elevated track, and indoor soccer gym.
