Graduate Student Orientation

Welcome to Kent State University!

Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) is held prior to the start of fall and spring semesters and all new graduate students are encouraged to attend.

GSO provides an opportunity to learn about university resources and network with other new graduate students, along with representatives of KSU's faculty, staff, and administration. GSO supplements department and program-level orientations to help you understand our university community as a whole.  GSO will feature a series of presentations from different resource areas across campus, campus tours, and breakout sessions facilitated by the GSO teaching fellows related to topics on teaching, research, and graduate student life.

Spring 2017 GSO will be held on Friday, January 13 in Kent Student Center from 12pm-5pm. Newly admitted graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend GSO and new teaching assistants are required to attend. If you have specific questions regarding GSO, please contact Kyle Reynolds at  kreynol3@kent.edu or 330-672-1466.

Pre-registration for GSO is now closed.  If you didn't pre-register for GSO you are welcome to go to the walk-in registration table on the 2nd floor of the Kent Student Center to check in.  Check in will open at 11am at GSO.
