Graduate Student Orientation
The Kent State University graduate community warmly welcomes you. We want your transition to graduate student life to be successful, and our orientation program is designed to assist. Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) supplements your department and program-level orientations to help you understand our community as a whole.
Graduate Student Orientation is held prior to the start of fall and spring semesters and all new graduate students are encouraged to attend. Whether you are a full-or part-time student, pursuing a master's or doctoral degree, GSO is for you, as it provides an opportunity to learn about university resources and network with other new graduate students, along with representatives of KSU's faculty, staff, and administration.
Fall 2014 GSO will be held on August 19-20 in the Kent Student Center. The first day is a general program that is open to all new graduate students. The second day is teaching specific and is required for new teaching assistants, but anyone who is interested in college teaching is welcome to attend. If you have specific questions regarding GSO, please contact Director of Student Services, Dr. Kate McAnulty at email@example.com or 330-672-2180.
More information regarding the learning objectives of GSO can be found here. In addition, the GSO handbook can provide information and guide you to various resources important for the KSU graduate student.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
