Presentation Guidelines

Basic Guidelines for Oral Presentations

Presenters are expected to provide a 10 minute oral presentation of their research.  Each oral presentation will be followed by a 3-5 minute Question and Answer period with the judge(s) and other attendees.  Laptops and projectors will be available to the presenters and each room will have wi-fi access. 

Basic Guidelines for Poster Presentations

Presenters are encouraged to create posters in a size of 36 x 48 inches.  The posters should include sections such as:  Introduction, Literature Review, Research Question(s), Methodology, Findings, Discussion, Conclusion, and References. 

A display board and easel will be provided for your poster.  We will also supply the materials for attaching your poster to the boards (tacks and/or tape).  During the poster session, each presenter is expected to stand or sit next to his/her poster and engage in discussions with individuals who stop by to read the poster.  Presenters are responsible for removing his/her research materials (posters) after the session. 

Presenters will have the option of having their poster displayed in University Libraries for the rest of the Spring 2013 semester if they so choose.
