Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate
Kent State University awards college credit for most Advanced Placement exams with scores of 3, 4, or 5. The AP chart gives specific information about scores, credit, and placement recommendations.
If you are a high school student and you asked the College Board to send your scores to Kent State University, your scores will be evaluated in early August when Kent receives the score report. You and your degree-granting college will receive notification of credit by letter several weeks later.
If you did not ask the College Board to send your scores to Kent, you will need to contact the College Board directly. You can obtain reports by:

If you are a college student transferring to Kent and you have received credit for AP work that appears on your college transcript, Kent will accept this credit. You will not need to contact the College Board. No credit can be posted until a student has enrolled as a Kent State University student.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Kent State University awards college credit for most International Baccalaureate exams with scores of 5 or higher on the higher level examinations. The IB chart gives specific information about scores, credit, and placement recommendations. No credit can be posted until a student has enrolled as a Kent State University student.
