I earned both my B.A. and my M.A. in English literature from KSU, and I have completed a number of courses at the doctoral level as well. I was in Dean Andrews’ Great Books I class in 1985! I joined the Honors College staff in 1998 after working for eight years in the Human Resources division doing, among other things, New Faculty Orientation. My hobbies include reading, writing, gardening, archery, and yoga, and I am learning to knit. I especially enjoy talking with students about the Senior Honors Thesis and about national Fellowship opportunities.

I graduated from The University of Akron with a B.A. degree in Business and Organizational Communication. I later returned to earn a M.A. degree in Higher Education Administration. I worked in Kent's Student Financial Aid Office before coming to the Honors College. My primary responsibilities in the Honors College include academic advising, alumni relations, first-year experience initiatives and community development. I love talking with students about their personal and career goals and look forward to working with each and every one of you! In my spare time, I enjoy reading (primarily fiction), traveling, and designing brochures and various other publications. I would also love to learn how to sew!! When I’m not doing any of these things, I like to sit at home and simply relax.

Defiance College (in northwest Ohio) was my undergraduate institution. I graduated with a degree in Business Education and spent the next 16 ½ years teaching at the high school (Kent Roosevelt and Aurora) and college levels (Kent State). I earned Master's degrees in education and community counseling, both from Kent State. I came to the Honors College in 1994, and I’ve really enjoyed being here. The staff and students are great people to work with. Needlework, reading, traveling, walking, and watching IRL racing are among my favorite hobbies.
