• Long-Serving Faculty Member Yoost Awarded for Work with Kent State Honors Students Kent State University College of Nursing faculty member Barbara L. Yoost, MSN, RN, CNS, CNE, ANEF, received the Distinguished Honors Faculty Award for 2013 for her work with nursing honors students.
  
• Honors Student Published in Undergraduate Journal of Writing and Composition Evita Singh, undergraduate integrated life sciences major, had her essay "Regional and Social Dialects When Naming Carbonated Beverages" published by the University of Cincinnati.
  
• Honors Students Create "Brainchild" Students in Dr. Claire Culleton’s Honors section of “Editing and Publishing†created an Honors publication highlighting creative work done by Honors students.
  
• Emeritus Dean Larry Andrews Named NCHC Fellow Larry Andrews was recognized as a fellow of the National Collegiate Honors Council at the 2012 annual conference.
  
• Honors Alumna Published in Journal of Park and Recreation Administration Katie Jefferies, Class of '11, was published in the Journal of Park and Recreation Administration.
  
• Kent Fellow Completes NOYCE Summer Internship Honors student Brandy Grove recently completed the NOYCE summer internship program with the Upward Bound program at Kent State University.
  
• Honors Students Participate in Art Show The 6th Annual Honors College/College of the Arts Art Show Reception was held on Thursday, February 23, 2012.
  
• Honors Students Tackle Area Childhood Obesity in National Competition Honors students Ryan Collins, Lisa Gulasy and Jenna Hedman, along with peers Christine Morgan and Taylor Titus, are tackling childhood obesity in Portage County as part of the Public Relations Student Society of America’s (PRSSA) Bateman Case Study Competition.
  
• Honors Student Brie Constantino Volunteers in Haiti Honors student Brie Constantino spent a week in Haiti this past June volunteering at the EBAC Christian Academy and Orphanage in Cap-Haitien.
  
• Honors Student Tina Schultz Participates in Global Village Internship Program This past summer, accounting major Tina Schultz participated in the Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry.
  
• Honors Student Takes Home Top Prize at Hyde Park Forum Megan Husk, freshman hospitality management major, recently took home the top prize at the Hyde Park Forum at Kent State University for her speech on 3-D films.
  
• Alyssa Gwirtz Helps to "Rebuild Together New Orleans" Alyssa Gwirtz, junior construction management major, recently assisted in a home renovation in New Orleans.
  
• Honors Gymnastics Student Receives MAC Specialist of the Year Award Honors Student Lindsay Runyan becomes second Kent State gymnast to garner MAC Specialist of the Year.
  
• Kent State University Honors Student Receives Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship Anna Levina, Honors student at Kent State University, is a recipient of the 2011 Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship.
  
• Allison Machnicki Completes Internship at Cleveland Museum of Natural History Honors Student Allison Machnicki works with Dr. C. Owen Lovejoy on a research project at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
  
• Kent State Honors College Student Named 2010 Portz Scholar Kent State University senior Honors thesis writer Molly MacLagan has been named a 2010 Portz Scholar by the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) for her thesis, “Early English Theatre: A Practical Guide” written under the direction of Dr. Don-John Dugas, associate professor in Kent State’s Department of English.
  
• Honors Student Katie Jeffries Presents at Conference in South Korea Honors Student Katie Jeffries presented her Senior Honors Thesis at the World Leisure Organization in ChunCheon, South Korea.
