The Honors College awards merit scholarships to entering freshmen who have the potential for superior scholarship and creative work at the university.
Honors scholarships for incoming freshmen are awarded based on academic credentials. These scholarships range from $1000 to full in-state tuition, room, board, and books. Scholarship recipients can retain their scholarships for eight semesters as long as they complete the required number of Honors experiences each year and maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
Through the Creative Artist Awards Competition, students majoring in dance, music, and theatre have the opportunity to compete for awards ranging from $1500 to $3500. These awards are renewable for up to four years and require participation in the Honors College.
Awards are based on two criteria: (a) demonstrated talent in one of the following: dance, music, or theatre and (b) academic ability (minimum grade point average of 3.4 at the end of the high school junior year; minimum composite score of 24 on the ACT or total score of 1090 on the SAT (reading and math).
