Morris Udall Scholarship
Description
The Morris K. Udall Foundation awards scholarships up to $5,000 to students who are committed to careers related to the environment, tribal public policy, or Native American health care.Eligibility
Candidates for the Morris Udall Scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a sophomore or junior-level student, enrolled full-time at a two-year or four-year accredited institution of higher education in the United States, pursuing a bachelor's or associate's degree during the 2012-2013 academic year.
- Be committed to a career related to the environment, OR committed to a career in tribal public policy OR Native American health care. Have a college grade-point average of at least a "B" or the equivalent.
- Be pursuing full-time study during the 2013-2014 academic year. Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. permanent resident.
Application:
All applicants apply simultaneously for admission as a graduate student to the University of Cambridge and a Gates Cambridge Scholarship using the one application pack. Applicants must submit all of the following to the Board of Graduate Studies:

An 800-word essay on a Morris K. Udall or Stewart L. Udall speech, legislative act, book, or public policy
- Official Academic Transcripts
- Three Letters of Recommendation
Nomination
An institutional nomination form from the Kent State faculty representative, Dr. Donald Palmer, is required for this scholarship. Students interested in applying should contact Dr. Palmer to discuss the application.
