The Honors College seeks to recruit a diverse student body that fosters a community of academic excellence. We offer competitive merit scholarships for students who demonstrate the potential for superior scholarly and creative activity at Kent State University.

The Honors College Experience

As a student in the Honors College, you will be a part of both a large university and an intimate community of dedicated scholars. You will have at your disposal the resources of a major public research institution while attending small classes with diverse topics that emphasize participation in dynamic discussions.

A student body drawn from virtually every undergraduate program on campus creates a community that encourages the exchange of ideas.

You will participate in classes of approximately 20 dedicated honors students. You will receive personal guidance from dedicated honors advisors who will help you integrate our unique courses into any undergraduate program you choose. World-renowned faculty members will engage you in hands-on research projects while inspiring your curiosity and challenging you to explore the world around you in new and different ways.

The Honors College awards merit scholarships on a competitive basis to students who demonstrate the potential for superior scholarship and creative work at the university.

The Honors College provides a variety of scholarship opportunities for students. Awards can be based on a variety of criteria including academic merit, talent, demonstrated financial need, field of study, participation in a specific program, organization or activity, and/or any combination of the above.
