The Honors College recognizes incoming Honors students who demonstrate strong academic potential.
All new freshmen who are admitted to the Honors College will automatically be considered for an Honors scholarship award. Honors College scholarships range from $1,000 to $6,000 and are based upon academic credentials.
Honors College scholarships are renewable for a maximum term of eight semesters of undergraduate work, provided students remain in good standing with the Honors College. These scholarships are added to awards students may receive from Kent State University.
Special Scholarship Awards
Creative Artist Awards Competition
The Creative Artist Awards Competition recognizes academic talent and creative ability of incoming students pursuing majors in dance, music, theatre, and visual communication design. Students must first be admitted to the Honors College to be considered. Awards range from $1,500 to $3,500, up to a maximum of $6,000 combined with other Honors awards.
Departmental Honors Awards
Students pursuing majors in some academic areas may be considered for special departmental awards.
May 4 Memorial Honors Scholarship
Awarded to incoming Honors College students based on superior academic credentials, the May 4 Memorial Honors Scholarship provides full in-state, tuition, room, and board. Recipients must have a 32 ACT composite or higher.
