Incoming students arriving on Thursday, Aug. 22 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. will check in at his or her residence hall. The check in location will either be in the lobby of your residence hall or outside one of the main entrance doors. Residence hall staff members and Movers and Groovers will be on-site to help direct you to your check-in location.
Any student registered for early arrival and returning students arriving on Saturday or Sunday will check-in at their area desk.

To help the move-in process work smoothly, we have developed a schedule (based on the first letter of your last name) for you to move into your residential community. It is critical that you plan your arrival on campus and residence hall move-in at the time and date designated below.
We are very excited that you will be joining our residential community and hope that you are prepared for the unique opportunities and challenges that await you this fall.
Your move-in date and time depends on the first letter of your last-name and whether you are a new or returning Kent State student.

Please note that if you need to move in earlier than your move-in date, the earliest a student may register for early arrival is Tuesday, August 20th. In order to secure an early move-in date, you MUST register for early arrival online (http://solutions.kent.edu/resserv/earlyarrival/); the early arrival registration process will begin August 1st. There will be a nightly charge associated with early arrival.
When you arrive at your residence hall, there will be a limited number of carts available to assist moving your belongings up to your residence hall room. Depending on the number of students moving in at the same time as you, there may be a short wait until a cart becomes available. If your family happens to have one, students are encouraged to bring their own dollies or two-wheeled carts from home to assist their move in process and decrease the length of time you may need to wait for a cart to become available.
You will have limited time to park your vehicle near your Residence hall during move-in. Please be prepared to unload quickly and move your car into a satellite parking lot. You may only unload ONE car at a time; if you bring more than one vehicle, other vehicles must be parked in a long-term parking lot nearby. Please leave one driver with the vehicle at all times during unloading outside the residence hall. A move-in parking map will be sent to you in August.
All cars that will remain on campus need to be parked in the areas designated by their parking pass (all Stadium passes must begin to park at the stadium immediately).
Campus Bus Service will be available starting the first day of move-in to provide transportation from designated parking lots to the residence halls.
In the near future you will receive a temporary parking pass for move-in. Please complete the pass and bring it with you on move-in day. We strongly encourage that you move in on your designated date and time to avoid traffic and unloading issues. *For more information on parking, please visit the parking services website at: http://www.kent.edu/parking.
