Where can I get assistance with my classes?
The Academic Success Center is the place to go on campus for Academic Support: Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and assistance with putting together a study group.
The basic difference between SI and other tutoring services is that SI leaders attend classes along with the students they are tutoring. SI is completely voluntary and available on a drop-in basis. SI sessions provide students with course-specific learning and study strategies, note taking and test taking skills, and the opportunity to study with their peers in a group format. For more information about SI, visit the SI website at http://www.kent.edu/si/
The Academic Success Center also offers drop-in math and writing tutoring at the Michael Schwartz Center, in the library, and in the residence halls. Check out the tutoring schedule at http://www.kent.edu/asc/tutoring/math/index.cfm
You may qualify for additional assistance from the Academic Success Center! Services include small group tutoring, one-on-one peer mentoring, and study groups. To see if you are eligible to receive these services, contact the Academic Success Center at 330-672- 3190, stop by their office in 207 Michael Schwartz.
