The Fine Arts Community and the Office of Advising and Academic Success recently co-sponsored Midterm Mayhem in Verder Hall. In support of student academic success, students had an opportunity to relieve student stress before and during midterms and obtain information about campus resources. The Office of Student Success, College of the Arts, College of Architecture and Design, and the Alumni Association provided information about free resources such as supplemental instruction, talking with professors, study skills, taking effective notes, and campus involvement.
Additionally, students were invited to color their stress away, partake in a hot beverage bar, experience pet therapy courtesy of the Dogs on Campus program, learn how to distress with tai chi, discover what their handwriting reveals about their personality and listen to some acapella music from the Kent Clarks! The event was incredibly successful, with more than 45 people earning Flashperks and over 75 in attendance. This event is one that the Fine Arts community and the Office of Advising and Academic Success anticipate being a mid-term tradition!
